WELCOME TO THE GREEN VALLEY COUNCIL
President's Message
2023 marks the Green Valley Council’s 50 years of community and civic engagement. On June 23, 1973, six original Homeowner Associations formed and incorporated the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council. Its mission was to provide a unified voice and represent the views and interests of unincorporated Green Valley. The first 50 years saw accomplishments such as development of a Phone Directory, Household Hazardous Waste Collection, Sun Shuttle Transportation, Buffelgrass Abatement, Dispose-A-Med, Parkland Acquisition, Road Remediation Prioritization, Audible Crosswalk Signals, and Covid-19 Community Response.
Apart from a dedicated and talented staff, the Green Valley Council functions due to the commitment of volunteers – people who offer their time and energy to various boards and committees. Volunteers who lend their expertise to developing educational forums and trainings, volunteers who interface with our community partners and governmental entities, volunteers who mentor and support our HOA membership. Our volunteers believe in the value of neighborhood, civic engagement, and community unity.

WHAT IS THE GREEN VALLEY COUNCIL?
The Green Valley Council incorporated as an Arizona 501(c)(4) Corporation in 1973. Because Green Valley is an unincorporated community, the Council is an all-volunteer organization that serves as the community’s “Civic Voice.” It acts as Green Valley’s liaison for governmental relations with local municipalities, the City of Tucson, Pima County, the State of Arizona, as well as Federal and Tribal governments.
