PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Don Weaver; President of the Green Valley Council

Don Weaver, President

Effective Board Meetings

Two of the most important functions of the Green Valley Council are the HOA Workshops held for the HOA officers and advising the Board Presidents on how best to conduct meetings.  The Council has learned over the years the importance of what makes a good meeting.  I share the following “Rules of Engagement” in hopes that it will assist in all of your meetings:

Rules of Engagement (ROE)

  • Leave your Ego at the door.
  • Respect and trust each other.
  • Agree to disagree.
  • Value dissent, but don’t beat a dead horse.
  • Keep an open mind and think outside the box.
  • Keep a sense of humor.
  • All participate to achieve good information for decision making.
  • Present possible solutions when identifying problems.
  • No gossip.
  • Support group decisions.
  • Recognize and appreciate all efforts.

These rules have made our meetings more positive and productive.

President’s Message April 2016

Welcome to our new website!  We are delighted to improve our ability to communicate with you about the role the Council plays in Green Valley.  Green Valley is an unincorporated community located in Pima County.  The Pima County governmental agencies provide all the basic services to our residents.

The Green Valley Council, it’s Board of Representatives, its Executive Board, and its Committees, are composed of Homeowner members, business members, service organizations, and governmental officials who work together to inform the community about issues of concern and to respond back to Pima County with a voice informed by over 25,000 residents.  The work of the Council is guided by our new community plan — Roadmap to 2025 — that was adopted in 2015 and sets forth the goals of the Green Valley community to ensure that Green Valley remains a premier place to live, work, play, and invest.

Together, we are truly the “Voice of the Community.”
