HOA with Pima County Roads
Beginning in the fall of 2016, HOAs with Pima County–owned roads, which have been waiting years for needed road repair and maintenance, have had the opportunity to decide whether to continue to wait or act on a self-help option to set up an Improvement District.

Homeowners who are interested in learning more about how an Improvement District could be set up will be able to attend informational workshops. These workshops, sponsored by the Human Relations and the Traffic & Arroyo committees, will be held throughout the fall. Representatives from Pima County will attend the workshops to explain how the County can assist in establishing an Improvement District and answer questions raised by the participants.

HOAs can request a workshop be held specifically for their homeowners. At least 51% of the homeowners must vote in support of this self-help option. To help defray costs, HOAs that are adjacent to one another may be able to join together to form a larger Improvement District.
The County Administrator, Chuck Huckelberry, presented a status report on the repair and maintenance of the roads in Pima County to the Council’s Board of Representatives in April 2016. The information he presented is based on two handouts, provided here electronically.
