We have two Committees that need Chairs.
Our longstanding Planning and Architectural Committee has no regular schedule. It meets only when Pima County has forwarded a packet of information involving a non-residential building permit for work in Green Valley. The present Chair, Dick Roberts, would mentor you in the position. It is helpful if you understand building terms and can read blueprints. If you are a retired architect, builder or in construction, you would find this Committee very interesting. Green Valley is the only unincorporated area of Pima County that, through an agreement with the County, has the right to review, comment and recommend changes on permits for the Green Valley area. The Committee takes into consideration the intangibles the County does not–safety, conformance with the ambiance of Green Valley, unnecessary intrusion on views, etc. The P & A Committee does a lot to keep Green Valley an outstanding place to live.
We are forming a new Committee, The Future Committee. What are the possible changes to Green Valley and its surrounding areas over the next 10-20 years? What should we be aware of now that could seriously impact us later? The Committee will not seek definitive answers because there are none. However, it will crystal ball any and all possibilities they can think of and their potential impacts. Those of you who have lived here a long time know what amazing changes have happened in your tenure here. To prepare for future changes, we have to consider what those might be. If we just sit and let it happen, the future will run over us. If you enjoy long term thinking/guessing and tossing around ideas about future good/bad/neutral possibilities, this is the Committee for you!
