The Client Services Department strives to help individuals in need develop self-sufficiency, overcome personal life problems, and integrate with their communities. We offer numerous services including counseling, case management, advocacy, self-improvement classes, hearing aid and device information workshops, and tutoring services. We also offer a Support Service Provider (SSP) program that helps assure access to community resources and activities for Deaf-Blind individuals.
At COPD, we take the time to understand our clients’ needs and provide sign language interpreting and consulting for conferences, job interviews, training, doctor’s appointments, legal settings and much more. Our knowledge and experience allow us to provide a positive image of accessibility.
COPD provides a wide range of vocational services including job training, job placement, career counseling, supported employment, on-the-job training, and assistance with interviewing and resume writing skills. All placements are based on the individual’s desires, with supports provided, as necessary. COPD provides guidance and counseling through job skills classes and workshops. Individuals are assisted with job site and job matching analysis, and given information on employer compliance with the ADA. Vocational services are available to all individuals with a disability.
